Weatherization makes changes to an existing residence so it's more energy efficient and is more comfortable for residents. These changes include insulation to the attic, walls, floor ducts and exposed pipes. Provide ventilation fans. Stop air infiltration with weather stripping and sealing attics and floors. Tune up and repair furnace or heating unit when necessary. Eligibility Requirements: Homeowner annual income below 200% of poverty level or landlord agreement.

Community Action Connections is a private non-profit social service agency providing a variety of services to low-income individuals and families throughout Benton and Franklin Counties.

The Helping Hands Programs poverty levels range from 150%, 200% to 225% of the current Federal Poverty Levels or up to 80% of the Area Median Income guidelines. Eligibility requirements differ from program to program. We encourage all interested households seeking assistance to contact us with any questions regarding services provided.   

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The LIHEAP program is a federally funded program that assists eligible applicants with heating costs for low-income households below 150% of the FPL dealing with financial challenges of increasing energy bills. Energy Assistance can assist with electricity, natural gas, propane, heating oil, wood and /or if heat is included in rent in the Benton and Franklin Counties.

STATE HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SHEAP)

The SHEAP program is a state funded program through the Climate Commitment Act, that assists low-income eligilbe applicants with home electricty needs. SHEAP assists households whose income are at or below 80% of the area median income level.

ONLY the SHEAP program makes energy assistance available to low-income qualified households who live in either Benton or Franklin County regardless of Citizenship or Residency status.

KID and its donating customers offer this assistance for income-eligible customers who need help to pay their irrigation assessments.  Households interested in the grant program must be at or below 80% Area Median Income as determined by Community Action Connections.
