The First Avenue Center offers a variety of programs and activities for residents in the Pasco area. We offer multiple recreational opportunities and support for the basic needs of senior citizens and others.
Classes & Recreational Opportunities
- Arts and crafts classes:
China painting and wood carving classes are offered at the Pasco 1st Avenue Center. No artistic ability or previous experience is necessary, just a desire to try something new and have fun while doing it.
- Drop-in games:
We have a variety of fun and exciting games for you to choose from. You can enjoy Cribbage, Pinochle, Snooker/Billiards and Dominoes! A $1 per day drop in Snooker/Billiards fee is assessed.
- Happy Feet Foot Care: This program provides preventative maintenance, education, and early detections of minor foot problems for senior citizens 60 years of age and older residing in Franklin County and Burbank. Care is provided by a registered nurse. Funds for the Happy Feet Foot Care Program are administered by Aging & Long Term Care of Southeastern Washington.
- Senior Life Resources Meals on Wheels: The Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels Program offers home-delivered meals to eligible participants. Frozen meals are available for weekends and holidays for those who need them. For active adults, a noontime meal is available at 7 dining centers throughout the area. Community funding sources for this program include the United Way, Aging & Long Term Care of Southeastern Washington, Yakama Nation Area Agency on Aging, and local grants and donations.
