CAC has a variety of funding sources for housing assistance each with its own set of eligibility criteria.
All programs at a minimum require documentation that the household lacks both of the following.
Sufficient financial resources and
Support networks to obtain/retain housing
Services are not guaranteed and subject to funding availability.
Services may include:
Prevention/At Risk of Homelessness: Assistance for those individuals/families who are at-risk of becoming homeless. (At-Imminent Risk or At-Risk of Literal Homelessness) Service for households who have received a notice to vacate their current housing due to non-payment of rent. Must have a documented crisis and be able to have the ability to sustain housing. Accept referrals from CES only.
Rapid Re-Housing: Assistance provided for households who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate shelter/cover at night. (Literally Homeless) Must be able to sustain the housing. Accept referrals from CES only.
Permanent Supportive Housing: Assistance for single men or women who are chronically homeless, who have a disabling diagnoses, living on the street or in the mission. Must meet eligibility guidelines. Eligibility conducted through CAC or referral from the CES.
Regionally Assisted Collaborative Housing (REACH)
Criteria / Eligibility: Have a diagnosis of HIV or AIDS.
Referal Process: Clients are referred into the progra, throught their Medical Care Provider, usually local Public Health Facilities.
Packets are available throught BFDHS.
Description: The REACH program provides short and long term rental assistance (TBRA), short term utility assistance. (STRUMU), Permanent Housing Placement (PHP) and Supportive Services (SS).
The program serves a six County Region.
Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA); Program is targeted to very low-income households with children who lack funding for housing sustainability and could benefit from a longer term subsidy. Eligibility conducted through CAC or referral from the CES.
Ending Family Homelessness(EFH)-TANF: Assisting Homeless TANF elegible famiies to obtain stable housing, entering into progressive engagement and reaching their fullest potential for self-sufficiency will be the main priorities of the program. The faimily will be provided training in the art of conducting a successful housing search, working to secure housing at scattered site.Accept referrals from CES only.
Housing and Essential Needs - HEN: The HEN is to establish and/or maintain stable and affordable housing for those clients receiving Medical Care Services (MCS). Funding allows the client to receive rent and utility assistance for the duration of eligibility as determined by the DSHS BVS print-out. A client may receive essential needs, and eligibility is based upon receiving medical assistance through DSHS, as verified by BVS and is based on need. Essential Needs will be goods only, no cash or vouchers will be provided. Accept referrals from DSHS, or walk-in with Medical Care Services(MCS) documentation.
